Under the 1998 Education Reform Act, all junior schools are required to teach the National Curriculum - a scheme of work covering ten subject areas. In addition, all schools are required to provide religious education and collective worship. At HSF we hold an act of collective worship daily, including an opportunity for reflection.
At Hempstead Infant School, pupils in years 1 and 2 cover Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum leading to Standardised Assessment Tests, which are taken by all pupils in Year 2 nationally. In EYFS, we are an 'early adopter school' now teaching to the 2020 EYFS Framework which can be viewed here.
At Hempstead Junior School, pupils in years 3 to 6 cover Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum leading to Standardised Assessment Tests, which are taken by all pupils in Year 6 nationally.
